Get to know us
Mōveo Concierge Physical Therapy emerged from its original roots inside Conflux Physical Therapy and Functional Fitness, a brick and mortar facility located in the heart of Mill Creek, Washington. Originally established in 2019, operations shifted and expanded in 2022 to serve the broader community of Snohomish and King Counties from the convenient location of CrossFit Mukilteo, and also to offer customizable experiences for a variety of clients including corporate events and team off-sites, regional youth athletic programs, and advanced practice education seminars within the physical therapy profession for physical therapists.

Our philosophy
As a company focused on being on the cutting edge of the health profession, we have noticed over the years that something critical was missing. There had to be more to helping people become more resilient human beings than simply treating their lower back pain, teaching them a few exercises, and sending them out the door, hoping it all worked out. This feeling was strengthened by the emerging evidence for the serious crisis in our society of preventable chronic lifestyle diseases of obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease, and the fact that most people are desk bound with their careers and move very little during the day.
We know the best and most effective medicines are often the simplest: water, sleep, nutrition, and exercise. This coupled with our extensive expertise in anatomy, biomechanics, and the science of rehabilitation enables us the unique opportunity to offer customizable, effective, and affordable solutions to our clients. Our focus is to create an unforgettable and unique experience for our clients so they feel empowered to take control of their health and fitness with sound education and strategies that set each individual up for success and sustainable health and fitness.
Our mission is to change the way the world views Physical Therapy Services. Rather than offering services in the traditional model, we have expanded our scope to share our expertise with a variety of clients in a variety of setting to fit their individual needs and budgets.

Meet Jim

Jim Shepherd
Owner / Doctor Of Physical Therapy
A severe car accident at age 15 left Jim with a broken neck and altered the trajectory of his young life, leading him down the path to becoming a physical therapist (PT). This brush with mortality at such a young age caused him to seek out purpose with his life and career. After his own experience as a patient, he knew that being a physical therapist would fulfill both his desire for meaningful impact while also allowing him to explore his passion for health and wellness.
Jim has been practicing physical therapy in Washington since 2005. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Eastern Washington University (EWU) and continued on to earn his Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from EWU. He has a special interest in dry needling, manual therapy and functional medicine. To that end, he has furthered his career development and continued education with several post-doctoral specialty programs and classes, which have given him a wide variety of interchangeable tools and a greater understanding of how to apply them to clients from all walks of life.
Jim’s treatment philosophy is anchored in the interconnectedness of the entire human body. Because muscles and joints rarely work in isolation, you often have to look at the body as a whole system to fully address problems. Similarly, he also firmly believes in the mind-body connection and the power our mindset has on our ability to mend and heal.
Jim is committed to helping his clients either recover quickly or become a better, more improved version of themselves.

FAQ
Does Mōveo offer in-home physical therapy visits? No. We have transitioned to a concierge, in-studio model at CrossFit Mukilteo. This lets us dedicate the full session to focused, one-on-one treatment rather than travel time.
How long is a physical therapy session at Mōveo? Every session is a full 60 minutes, one-on-one with Dr. Jim Shepherd, DPT — never overlapping patients, never rushed. A session can be scheduled for 90-120 minutes upon request.
Where is Mōveo located? We are inside CrossFit Mukilteo located at 12108 Mukilteo Speedway, Ste B4, Mukilteo, WA 98275. We serve clients throughout King and Snohomish Counties.
Do you accept insurance? We do not directly bill insurance. Mōveo is an out-of-network provider and we are happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your health insurance for reimbursement. We do accept HSA/FSA payment.
Do I need a doctor's referral? Washington is a direct access state for PT. A referral for treatment is not required, but it is important to confirm whether your insurance requires one for reimbursement if you plan to file a self claim.
What techniques does Dr. Jim use? Dry needling, manual therapy, Connect Therapy™, and individualized therapeutic exercise — treating the body as a connected system rather than just the site of pain.
How far in advance do I need to book? Typical wait times are under two weeks, with flexible scheduling available.
